The weather is nice and warm enough again.
I go, bike course, to the bus station (called
here Estación de Omnibus here) to buy our bus tickets to Mendoza, next
Saturday. I must cross the entire city, from north-west where we are to the
southeast. But with this system of streets at right angles, well marked, many
one way, it is very easy. I pass the Centro Cívico and I hear (before I see it)
a manifestation of municipal employees. They want a pay rise. They have with
them the drums, whistles and even strong firecrackers. It makes quit a noise!
I then take Córdoba Street and go straight,
straight, round the large hospital and arrive at the bus station. Mr. Marcelo
lives in this area too. To buy a bus ticket, you must have your passport.
Fortunately I remembered it and I have copies of our passports. I have not the
real ones as reading the newspaper makes me a little afraid: for theft attacks
are quite numerous, stealing money, mobile phones, often with violence. I take
two tickets to 8:30 am on Saturday. We have, again, the best seats on the second floorand at the front.
I come back and the whole trip took me an hour
and a half. I swim to refresh me, alone as always in the pool, 720 m.
Shopping for dinner, small lunch, journal and
blog.
When Jens comes home, we swim and I do 312 m,
total today 1032 m.
Tonight we have Gerardo and Yésica. Same menu
as the other guests: melon with cured ham, salad of chickpeas, tomatoes and
avocados, cheese and flan. They come early, at 7 pm, because they give a tango class
at 10 pm. Nice meal, we speak of the time when Gerardo was in Bergen and his
success as a teacher of tango there. He is seismologist and tango dancer, a
pretty rare combination. Next time, we hope Yésica will come too.
A little news in the newspaper: the small town
of Albardon, not far from San Juan, celebrates 5 years of twinning with Motril,
the port near Almuñecar in Spain (where we were last fall).
